Women and Sparklers
Celebration with sparklers

Welcome, dear readers, to a special edition of my blog!

Today, I stand on the brink of a new chapter, a chapter adorned with the beautiful number 60. WOOT WOOT!!!

Six decades of life, love, laughter, and learning. Some might say it's just a number, but to me, it's a tapestry woven with the threads of countless experiences, each adding a unique hue to the masterpiece of my existence.

There's an undeniable excitement within me as I embrace the theme of being...

"Sexy at 60." HECK YES!!

Why? Because I've come to realize that age is not a cage; it's a canvas waiting to be painted with vibrant colors and bold strokes. In a world that often glorifies youth, I stand proudly, ready to declare that every wrinkle, every laugh line, and every silver strand of hair tells a story—a story of resilience, of growth, and of embracing life's twists and turns.

The clock's hands may keep moving forward, but that doesn't mean we have to leave our vitality behind. So here I am, arms wide open, welcoming this incredible day and this new chapter. I've come to understand that you can't turn back time, but you can decide how you want to live in the present moment.

So, join me in this celebration of life, of wisdom gained, and of the unwavering spirit that only grows stronger with each passing year. Let's toss away the stereotypes, the limitations, and the self-imposed boundaries.

Reflecting on My Journey: A Celebration of Growth and Empowerment

You see, for the longest time, I didn't relish the idea of celebrating my birthday. The energy surrounding that day was tainted, heavy with the memory of a painful loss — the passing of my dear mother, whose memorial we held just days before my own birthday. Mourning her absence, I found it hard to muster the strength to celebrate amidst my grief.

It wasn't easy, my friends. There were moments when I felt compelled to wear a mask of happiness, even when my heart was heavy with pain. I was told that birthdays were meant to be celebrated, a time for joy, but nobody seemed to understand my need for space, for solace.

I vividly remember that one fateful birthday when, in a crowded restaurant, the world sang me the traditional tune of celebration. But I couldn't join in. My tears flowed uncontrollably, a river of unspoken emotions and unhealed wounds. In that moment, all I craved was understanding, the freedom to honor my grief without judgment.

And so, every year, I shied away from the festivities, silently bearing the weight of my sorrow. But this year, oh, this year marks a profound shift. I've decided to break free from the chains of my past, to shatter the belief that birthdays must be marked with forced smiles and unshed tears.

But this year, everything changed. This year, I've made a promise to myself: to break free from the shadows of the past, to embrace my birthday with open arms, and to acknowledge the strength it takes to celebrate amid life's challenges.

Why this shift, you ask? It's simple: as I guide others to honor themselves, to be authentic and true, I must practice what I preach. This year, I step into my birthday with a newfound determination. I choose to honor the journey that has brought me here, to embrace the lessons learned and the strength gained. I invite each of you wonderful women into this celebration, to share in the triumph of breaking free, of embracing authenticity, and of finding power in vulnerability.

This year, my birthday isn't just another day — it's a testament to my resilience, my courage, and my unwavering spirit. And I am excited, oh so excited, to share this moment of victory with all of you.

Sweet Celebration

When I shared the news of my 60th birthday with a dear friend, her eyes widened, disbelief written all over her face. No way, you're 60! You look absolutely amazing!' she exclaimed.

I won't deny, it's a bit of a brag, but it's also my truth. I do feel incredible, and yes, I do not fit the typical image of a 60-year-old woman. But then, who decides what 60 looks like? Hollywood? I'm not here to compare myself to anyone. I'm proudly embracing the graceful marks of aging, showcasing the real and authentic me.

I've adopted a simple mantra: 'It's just a number.' This is my 60, and I wear it with pride. I celebrate not just the passage of years but the immense growth and transformation I've undergone. From battling the fear of showing my authentic self-due to my dyslexia to conquering those self-doubts, I've emerged stronger.

So, welcome to my 60s! This is an age I wear with confidence and honor. It signifies not just the passing of time, but the wisdom gained, the hurdles overcome, and the triumphs celebrated. Here's to embracing every glorious moment of my journey, the good and the challenging, because they have all shaped me into the fierce, fearless, and free-spirited woman I am today."

"Aging is an extraordinary process where you become the person you

always should have been." - David Bowie

This quote by David Bowie resonates deeply, doesn't it? It's like shedding the layers of expectations, societal pressures, and self-doubt to uncover the authentic, powerful core within us. It's about realizing that every experience, every challenge, and every triumph has shaped us into this incredible, resilient person we are today.

Just like a fine wine gets better with time, so do we. Each year adds a new chapter, a new adventure, and a new level of wisdom. Embracing our age is not just about the number of years but about celebrating the journey—every laugh line, every scar, and every victory. It's about acknowledging the strength it took to get through tough times and the joy found in simple moments.

So, here's to embracing the extraordinary process of aging! Here's to becoming the person we were always meant to be. It's a journey filled with self-discovery, self-love, and endless possibilities. As we celebrate this milestone, let's dance through life like nobody's watching, embracing every moment with grace, gratitude, and an unwavering belief in our own brilliance. After all, age is not a limitation; it's a badge of honor, a testament to our resilience, and a canvas on which we paint the masterpiece of our lives. Let's make every year, every moment count, and let our light shine brighter than ever before!

It's like unlocking a door to a room filled with endless possibilities, self-assurance, and unshakable confidence.

This self-connection is not just about fleeting moments of self-appreciation; it's a profound shift in perspective, a revolution of the soul. It's about standing firmly in your truth, honoring your needs and desires, and being your own biggest cheerleader. It's about embracing your own company, finding solace in your thoughts, and loving every inch of who you are.

Once you establish this unbreakable bond with yourself, there's a radiant glow, an inner peace, and a magnetic energy that draws positivity and love into your life. Here's to embracing our fabulous selves, to being our own best friends, and to living life with unapologetic joy. As we raise our glasses, let's also raise our spirits, acknowledging the incredible journey we've been on and the extraordinary adventures that await.

In this season of thankfulness, I am profoundly grateful for the tapestry of souls that have woven their threads into my life, creating memorable experiences. Each encounter, whether brief or lasting, has enriched my story, and for that, I am truly blessed. As we gather with loved ones, let's remember the power of gratitude, the warmth of connection, and the beauty of simply being alive.
